ENDEARING STRANGERS
An emotional and visual journey through the human figures I have encountered during more than three decades of exploration across Africa. Countries such as Ethiopia, Gambia, Morocco, Cape Verde, and Egypt have left a profound mark on me, not only as an artist but also as a person. This connection with the African continent was born during my first trip and has grown stronger over the years, especially because my family is tied to this land: my daughters, born in Ethiopia, are a living part of this inspiration.
I use mixed media on wood, paper, and steel, combining acrylic and collage to create textures and layers that reflect the richness and complexity of the experiences I have lived. Each work is a tribute to the dignity of its people, to the figure of women, childhood, and to the journeys and struggles to achieve a better future. My goal is to convey this passion and admiration through my paintings, capturing the essence of a continent full of life, colors, and untold stories. Each brushstroke is a memory of what has touched my heart and an invitation to contemplate its essence that goes beyond borders.
